ATL Spurs and Atlanta Habitat

This past Saturday, ten ATL Spurs’ members put in a few community outreach hours with Atlanta Habitat for Humanity.
To start the day, we were introduced to the delightful future homeowner, learned about her work with MS patients, and heard about her vivacious eight-year-old son. Thanks to Atlanta Habitat, her own hard work, and the work of community volunteers, her family will move into their very first home early in 2017.
With projects including interior painting, base trim installation, soffit fitting, and exterior painting, boredom was nowhere to be found. As a group, we worked hard and had fun doing it. A few of us even learned new skills – like how to use a nail gun!

The atmosphere on the build site was one of teamwork and comradery. We walked away at the end of the day with full hearts. In fact, it was such a wonderful experience, that ATL Spurs will definitely be doing it again. I hope more of you can join us next time, because we truly got more than we gave out of this service project. COYS!!
