Matt Stigall is moving to Vice Chair so that he can focus more attention on Terminus Legion. Brian Bensky recently moved to Chicago. We thank them both for their previous service as founding board members of our club.
We are very happy to continue our partnership with Meehan’s Atlantic Station, and we have brought back a number of items from this summer’s North America preseason trip for them to put up around the bar. We’re happy to take any donations of other items to enhance the atmosphere, and will work to grow the Spurs presence as we go forward. Meehan’s will continue the $5 breakfast buffet this year, and they have offered the option to provide additional items potentially for an increased cost. We will only explore that option if we hear from a number of people that there is interest in an increased cost.
Goals for this year:
* Provide an inclusive community for local Spurs fans to meet online and in-person
* Attract new fans to Tottenham Hotspur
* Community outreach (in light of this, Luke Walker has joined the board in this capacity and we are looking forward to doing some community outreach work this year. Details to come)
* Above all, support the team and have fun!
Membership is free this year. We will provide funds for the club through merchandise sales (there are a few scarves left, we expect we may run out at the West Ham season opener). We will continue to provide membership updates to the club, so if you haven’t signed up yet, you aren’t too late.
We are planning to do a run of t-shirts for this season, and are looking into stickers and a few other potential items. We welcome input on any additional ideas for items we can produce and sell. We still have a (very) small number of last year’s shirts if anyone wants to purchase them.
$200 was carried over from last season which went towards the initial purchase of scarves, so that they could be available for the trip to Chicago. We will be using funds raised to fund our club membership fee, web hosting fees, and items for giveaways this season.
Bulk Order: We will be doing a bulk order within the next few weeks. More information to come, although we are considering collecting the money directly and paying the club to save time on having them contact everyone individually for payment.
Recreational Soccer League: We are planning to participate again, and in the process of determining exactly which league(s) to participate in. Watch this space.
Fantasy Football League: Zach Conrad will be organizing this. Watch the group for signup information coming soon!
Even though we have been around for less than two seasons, we have grown rapidly and are proud of the community that we have all built. Over 200 members in the FB group. Over 1000 Twitter followers. We look forward to an exciting season with a new manager which hopefully translates to more success on the field. Thanks for your continued support and we look forward to seeing you at the West Ham game on August 16 at 10 a.m.
P.S. We will be taking a group picture at the West Ham game which will be framed and put on the wall at Meehan’s. We will also be giving away a signed t-shirt from the tour!
